Pandora Bracelets and Charms
PANDORA was founded in 1982 by Per and Winnie Enevoldsen in the Nørrebrogade area of Copenhagen, Denmark. As the demand for their products increased the couple decided to shift their focus to the wholesale business. In 1984 the couple hired jewelry designer Lone Frandsen to create a jewelry line. In 1996 they hired its second designer, goldsmith Lisbeth Enø Larsen, who worked along with Frandsen to create Pandora's signature style and customizable charm bracelet. By this time Pandora had become a strictly wholesale business.
In 2006, PANDORA opened its first store in Hamburg, Germany, followed by stores in Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States. Pandora jewelry is now sold in more than 65 countries on six continents through over 10,000 points of sale, including 700 concept stores.
PANDORA employs over 5,300 people worldwide which includes 3,600 located in Gemopolis, Thailand, where the company manufactures its jewelry.
In recent years, PANDORA has significantly broadened their jewelry portfolio through the introduction of several new lines; Compose, LovePods and Liquid Silver collections launched in 2007, 2008 and 2009, respectively. In the coming years, they expect to capitalize on the potential of these collections as well as on the potential in the Moments and Stories collections, both in existing and new markets.
